During December, the library will be giving away holiday gift bags (while supplies last) to any child 12 and under that visits the library.

These holiday snowman gift bags, will include a random DIY craft ornament, a free children's book, and a candy cane for your child to enjoy.

Holiday Giftbag Giveaway at the Winston County Library

Holliday giftbags full of DIY crafts, books, and candy canes will be given away to an child 12 and under who comes to the library during the month of December (while supplies last – we have 100 bags).

Library Holiday Schedule

The Winston County Library will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 26 and 27, for Thanksgiving.

 They will reopen on Monday, November 30.

City of Louisville Holidays Garbage Pickup Schedule Updated

CITY OF LOUISVILLE GARBAGE PICKUP FOR THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY

The City of Louisville Solid Waste Garbage Pickup schedule has been changed so that the Thursday route will be picked up on Saturday. The Thursday, November 26, 2020, garbage pickup will be made on Saturday, November 28, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Friday route is not changed.

CITY OF LOUISVILLE GARBAGE PICKUP FOR CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR’S HOLIDAYS

The City of Louisville Solid Waste Garbage Pickup schedule has been changed so that the Friday route will be picked up on Saturday, for both Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

The Friday, December 25 garbage pickup will be made on Saturday, December 26, 2020.

Garbage will be picked up on Friday, January 1. ( The landfill will be closed, but they will manage the garbage.) 

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE!

Landfill will be closed on the holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. 

Thanksgiving Farmers Market - Nov. 23

The Coalition for a Healthy Winston County will host a Thanksgiving Farmers Market on Monday, November 23, 2020. The market will be held inside the Louisville Coliseum, 245 Ivy Ave, Louisville, MS. Vendors will set up at 3:00 pm and Customers can buy at 3:30 pm. There is no charge to vendors to set up a booth. Social distancing and mask-wearing are required according to COVID 19 Guidelines.

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching and the market has your menu in mind. The market will offer sweet potatoes, collard greens, turnip greens, B Leigh’s sweet treats cupcakes, pecan and sweet potato pies, cakes, pepper sauce, pickled squash, homemade pickles, chow chow, homemade jellies, pork skins, flavored popcorn, and Christmas wreaths and ornaments, parched peanuts, skins, and pecans.

Join Your Local Friends of the Library Organization During November

Mid-Mississippi Regional Library System (MMRLS) is happy to be introducing “Friends of the Library Sign Up Month” at all its library locations in Attala, Holmes, Leake, Montgomery, and Winston County. During this November event, library guests are encouraged to join their local chapter of the Friends of the Library advocacy group. 

What is Friends of the Library and why should you join? Friends of the Library is a national organization of library supporters with local chapters throughout our state. Friends groups are library advocates who come together to support, improve, and promote their local library.

Starting this year, Friends of the Library members will receive a unique library card which provides a special system wide benefit of half-price print/copy/fax services. Friends groups help raise funds for special library programs, advocate for library services, volunteer for the children’s summer reading program, sponsor National Library Week events, as well as performing other voluntary duties/activities. This low fee membership would also be an excellent holiday gift idea for the library enthusiast in your life.

Each Friends group operates independently from their local library but can support their local branch through the various means already mentioned.

“By joining a Friends of the Library group, you can help make a difference in your local community and help expand the reach of the library. Whitehall Church Bazaar - Oct. 31

Whitehall Church, located at 10595 Hwy 14 West in Louisville, will host their annual Bazaar on October 31st from 8:00 until noon. This will be an outside only event this year due to Covid-19. Everyone is required to wear a mask. Also, no breakfast, lunch, or dip samplings will be served. Pottery, distressed furniture, crafts, frozen casseroles, baked goods, dip mixes, quilts, and much more will be offered. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to November 7th. Half of the proceeds goes to local missions and half goes to the building fund. Sneak peeks of bazaar items may be viewed prior to the event at Whitehall Church Bazaar Facebook page. WMC Fight The Flu Drive - Oct. 21

Skip the wait in our clinics and attend our “Fight the Flu Drive” on Wednesday, October 21th at the WMC Administration Building on the hospital campus from 8:30-4:00.

Cost of flu shots for uninsured will be $25.

****Patients 18 years of age and under who are uninsured or enrolled in a Medicaid program must receive injections at one of our other clinics due to Vaccine for Children program guidelines.
