Ava Hickman Receives Her First Library Card

Ava Hickman received her first library card recently! She is seven years old and is a second grader at Fair Elementary. Her parents are Jamaya Macon and Christopher Hickman.

Kathy Wile lives in Mississippi with her husband and three dogs. She began writing at age 35. Though she has always loved the written word, Kathy merely minored in English. She received her degree in art with an emphasis in graphic design from The University of Mississippi in 2001, and she put it to use first as a graphic designer for The Oxford Eagle newspaper. Now, she is a painter at Etta B Pottery who spends weekends and holidays crafting novels. As time permits, she also enjoys painting landscapes and writing songs.



 

Budget Workshop Rescheduled

The budget workshop meeting originally scheduled for Monday, August 7 at 1:00 p.m. has been RESCHEDULED for Thursday, August 10, at 9:00 a.m.

April DAR Meeting



Pictured here are Mary Tabor , Nanih Waiya Chapter Regent, and guest speakers Glen Haab and Amy Hillyer. The guest speakers presented an informative program to the group about the new things that are happening in Louisville.












Also, part of the meeting was devoted to awarding Olivia Mayo from Winston Academy the $250.00 DAR Good Citizenship award. Olivia competed with other students from schools in Winston County by writing an essay which was entitled "Our American Heritage and Our Responsibility for Reserving it". The essay was judged on clarity of expression, originality and historical accuracy, She is pictured here with DAR member Beverly Ballard, the DAR Good Citizen's head.
