Mid-MS Regional Library System to Host Online National Library Week Programming
The Mid-Mississippi Regional Library System (MMRLS) will be hosting its first ever online National Library Week schedule of programs from April 20-24, 2020. The public is invited to visit the library system’s Facebook page located at facebook.com/midmisslib each day during the week to view a new virtual program. The schedule of programs will be of interest to all ages, and will be accessible to the public on demand from the safety of their homes.
"Library staff has been working extremely hard during the COVID-19 crisis to offer the best digital content to our customers,” said Josh Haidet, Executive Director. “The presentation of an online version of our National Library Week programming is just one more way for us to virtually educate and entertain our communities, while enabling us to observe an important event in our library system’s yearly promotional calendar during this time of social distancing.”
National Library Week is an annual observance highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities. The 2018 celebration marked the 60th anniversary of National Library Week, which began in 1958.
Stay tuned to the Mid-Mississippi Regional Library’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter social media pages by searching @midmisslib for the full schedule of programming for this weeklong event.
