Winston County Library Expands Hours

New expanded hours begin Monday, May 3, 2021.



ECCC’s Summer Kids’ College Returns June 21-25

East Central Community College’s annual Kids’ College will return in 2021 after a one-year absence due to COVID-19.

Kids’ College 2021 on the Decatur campus will run June 21-25 with several daily activities for those ages 6 through 12.

Online only registration opens Monday, May 3, with a registration deadline of Friday, May 28. Registration can be completed at www.eccc.edu/continuing-education.

The cost of each class is $50 and each participant receives a Kids’ College T-shirt. Classes are nonrefundable after May 28.

Courses offered from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. each day include Celebrity Acting (ages 9-12), Creative Chefs (ages 6-8), Lil’ Warriors Soccer (ages 6-8), Lil’ Warriors Tennis (ages 6-8), Magicians School (ages 9-12), and Spa Camp (ages 9-12).

Courses offered from 10:30 a.m. to Noon each day include Celebrity Acting (ages 6-8), Creative Chefs (ages 9-12), Lil’ Warriors Soccer (ages 9-12), Lil’ Warriors Tennis (ages 9-12), Magicians School (ages 6-8), and Spa Camp (ages 6-8).

Check-in each day is at the college’s Burton Library.

General college COVID-19 guidelines will be in place for those attending Kids’ College classes.

Memorial Services to Be Held in May

Center Ridge Church on Shiloh Road will have their annual Memorial Day Service beginning at 11:00 AM on Sunday, May 2, 2021. Lunch will be served following the service. Brothers Charles Bond and Mike Dowd will lead the services. Masks are optional.

Pleasant Hill UMC will hold their Memorial Service on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Lunch will be served following service. Rev. Patti Hardacre will lead the service. Masks are optional.

Whitehall Church will have their Memorial Service on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Lunch will be served after service. Bro. Mike Dowd will lead service. Masks are optional.

Rural Hill UMC will hold their annual Memorial Service on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Lunch will follow the service. Bro. Mike Dowd will lead service. Masks are optional

40+ Men and Women Basketball League Registration

The City of Louisville Parks and Recreation Department is having registration for:  40+ Men and Women Basketball League Registration will end April 27, 2021 at 5pm. $10/player.

Games will be played at the Louisville Activity Building located at 405 Ivy avenue, building at the new playground and splashpad
